Meet Deziner Tonie

Tonie VanderHulst, also known throughout the industry as “Deziner Tonie” has created beautiful interiors for more than 25 years!

An award winning interior designer of both residential and commercial spaces, full service design, and full-service renovation management, Tonie strives to create spaces tailored to each client’s specific lifestyle, tastes, and needs. With over 25 years of experience, she possesses the ability to understand the vision of each client, while carefully hearing their unique desires, guiding them through the design process and ultimately delivering a space that truly expresses who they are. 

Tonie is a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona in Southern California, where she then continued post-graduate studies in Interior Design at FIDM in Los Angeles, California, and ultimately started her award-winning design firm business in Southern California. Tonie and her husband owned and operated their design-build firm for more than 20 years in Southern California earning both national and international design awards, and becoming one of the top design firms in North America. 

In 2018, Tonie and her husband made the decision to relocate the business to Florida, where they fell in love with The Palm Beaches. Today, Tonie is using her expertise and personal experience to specialize in helping her clients relocate to their new retirement homes in Florida. She provides full-service design and project management services to guide clients through every step of the design process while taking care of the most precise details to ensure that her clients can enjoy everything that retirement in Florida has to offer and most importantly, to enjoy their grandchildren! 

Tonie’s design style is classic in form yet bold in colors and patterns. Her ability to transform a space by layering rich textures, colors, and fabrics has placed her among the top design firms in North America. A global approach to design is deeply influenced by her experience traveling, her background in history, and her appreciation for art. Tonie continues her education in interior design through seminars and workshops from the nation’s top design experts, designer certifications such as Accessible Home Design and Aging in Place, and visits to design centers across the country such as her most recent visit to the High Point Furniture Market in North Carolina.

When Tonie is not busy designing spaces for her clients, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoys traveling with her husband and two dogs in their motorhome while exploring all of the beauty that our country has to offer.
