We love inspiration from abroad, but there’s just as much beauty right here at home! This summer, my husband and business partner, Pete, and I celebrated our anniversary with a trip to Yellowstone and Zion National Parks.
Confession… even though it was supposed to be a vacation, my inner designer was in color bliss! Looking from one beautiful landscape to the next — I could hardly resist imagining the beautiful palettes they could create.
Luckily, I don’t have to resist sharing with you. 🙂 Here are six perfect nature palettes and my personal favorites from the trip. I hope they inspire you!
1. When Neutrals Become Mighty
Copper-tinted neutrals and pine green work together effortlessly. Let these colors inspire your space for a feeling of calm and understated might.
2. A Surprising Meeting of Turquoise & Chartreuse
Turquoise and chartreuse are a match made in Yellowstone heaven. We could see these two colors working in perfect harmony as accessories to a mostly neutral or white-based space. Fresh and fun!
3. Invite In Nature’s Power Couple
We knew orange and blue were a power couple, but who knew sulfur could be so beautiful? Take inspiration from this palette… but not from the smell! 😉
4. The Easiest Palette for Creating a Fresh-Feeling Space
A spectrum of greens are made brighter by sky blue. This palette could create a space that feels airy, open, and reviving. (Plus… buffalo!)
5. The Perfect Inspiration for Warm Woods
Warm reds and browns love a vibrant green! If your home includes hardwoods with a reddish tint, try adding some plants to the space or light blue accessories. They’ll make the wood really stand out!
6. When In Doubt… this Color Won’t Let You Down
So many shades of blue… tranquil, irresistibly calming, and (we’ll say it again) a timeless classic! You can’t go wrong here.
